The Computer Networking and Computer Support Technician certificate programs are relatively short programs that are designed to provide students with the basic skills they'll need for their computer-related careers and get them into the workforce quickly. Bauder College students can take advantage of the proven Kaplan curriculum, which teaches through group discussions, lectures, and hands-on experience.
Each of these certificate programs prepares students for entry-level careers in a variety of IT professions. Graduates of the certificate programs can go on to entry-level positions as a help desk specialist, a desktop support technician, a hardware installer, or a computer salesperson. The courses in the Computer Networking certificate provide students with the foundation they need to repair computers, and plan, build, and troubleshoot a network.
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology gives Bauder College students a more comprehensive introduction to the computer technology field. Students in the BS IT program learn how to evaluate the effectiveness of products and systems for users, PC hardware and software troubleshooting, computer networking and Internet infrastructure, and information systems planning. This prepares students for entry-level computer-related and IT careers.
Like other Kaplan schools, Bauder College applicants must be high school graduates or provide a proof of equivalency. Students must complete an informational interview, and incoming freshmen may be required to complete an entrance examination. Students must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently, and applicants must complete a nationally-standardized test prior to enrollment.
